The foundations of the Inspection Technology go back to year 2001 when its owner Mr. Mohanad Akilla, started the first business with client Al Jabber Engineering by providing with full written corporate Quality Records and forms, which later on were approved by Qatar Petroleum prior to their application and use. This was supported by the request of Quality Personnel whom were specialized and experienced in Non Destructive Testing (NDT). During this period the company started to gradually add more skilled manpower to sustain its market demand. By the end of 2003 the company’s license by MOE (Ministry of Environment), formerly the Supreme Council for Environment and Natural Reserves (SCENR), was completed.

In 2004, working with Petrofac for Qatar Petroleum, paved wider means of penetrating the TESTING market. At the same time with increased demands, the company begun to invest on Industrial RADIOGRAPHY equipment, including cameras, followed by an X-ray. In 2005 Inspection Technology was given an increased amount of projects through JGC Middle East Dolphin Energy Project in Ras Laffan. This helped to grow the company’s reputation to become one of the leading conventional NDT companies in Qatar. Also in that period, automatic film developing, and flasher was initially introduced by Inspection Technology, cutting half of the time required for radiographed reports. Later on, Ras Laffan Olefin Project (RLOP) with its three major contractors Manco, Lahoud and Petrojet, added historical financial boost to the organization lasting till early 2009.

The company always adapted itself to the booming civil and construction activities, oil and gas, maintenance and offshore works in the region. 2006-2008 were important years for Inspection Technology and the company listed major clients from the above mentioned sectors consequently upgrading the technical requirements for any new technicians joining the company. Whether according to ASME Codes to British Standards, the clients were served according to their needs. Amongst these clients are The Qatar Foundation Al Shaqab Academy Project, New Doha International Airport, The Pearl Construction, Museum of Islamic Art, Total and Shell offshore. Several maintenance jobs were through Salam RBG and Velosi, Mesaieed Independent Power Plant, Doha Urban Relocation project for the pipeline, Tanks and Spheres, and other call out services within Mesaieed and Ras Laffan Industrial City.

Another milestone was achieved in 2009 and early 2010, that present huge break for our Post Weld Heat Treatment activity serving one of the prestige clients in the region - Qatar Gas 3 &4 Development Project LNG Onshore Facilities. This was through CTJV and Gama Qatar and proved our competence; over 130 supplied skilled manpower, 20 out of 45 Heat Treatment machines ready to deploy and 2 PMI machines were working 24/7 for over 8 months. Parallel to this accomplishment the organization registered as Corporate Member of two International respected bodies; the (ASNT) American Society for Non-Destructive Testing and (AWS) American Welding Society.

Inspection Technology noticed it was the right time to upgrade their services adding Advanced NDT methods to meet the demands of the constantly changing environment. This is achieved through continuous improvement and usage of Advanced Non-Destructive Testing equipment, that can provide high quality data for professional consulting and optimal maintenance.
